• K-12 (Open)
• K-8 (Under 1200)
• K-5 (Under 800)
• K-3 (Under 400)
• Rising Stars (Non-rated)

Note: The Rising Stars Section is not USCF-rated, so USChess Membership is not required. For other sections, the rating in parentheses indicates the maximum rating allowed for that section. For example, if you are in 2nd grade but have a rating above 400, you will not be eligible to play in the K-3 Section. Eligibility will be based on the December Supplement Rating. If you do not have a rating yet, you can register for any section that matches your grade.

Format:

5SS, G/30;d5.

(5 total games – Clocks at 30 minutes plus 5 seconds before you start losing time).

Round Times:

(NOTE: One 1/2 point bye is allowed, and never in the final round.)

• Round 1: 9 am
• Round 2: 10:15am
• Round 3: 11:30am
• LUNCH
• Round 4: 1:30pm
• Round 5: 2:45pm
• Awards Ceremony: 5:30pm. (Followed by ICEA Annual Concert)

Entry Fee:

• Early Bird: $50 (by Oct. 31)
• Regular: $60 (by Nov. 30)
• Late Entry: $75 (after Nov. 30)

Awards

• Trophies to the Top 5 of players for each section.
• Medals for 5th-10th Players for each section.
• The Champion of each section will gain a Free Entry of SuperStates 2026
• All winners will be recognized on the ICEAChess.org website
